Young businesswoman has a serious expression on her face while discussing a document with a female colleague.

Is your business struggling to make ends meet? Do you have employees who count on you staying open to pay their rent? Have you been denied for loans to help keep your business afloat? If so, your business may qualify for free grants. Today, we’re talking about four of our favorites.

1. STREETSHARES FOUNDATION – THE BEST FREE VETERAN BUSINESS GRANT

If you are a veteran or the spouse of a vet or active duty member, the best free business grant for you may be the StreetShares Foundation grant. To receive this grant, you simply must submit an online application and short video pitch. Between eight and 15 finalists will be selected and the pitches will be voted on by the public. Winners may receive $15,000, $6,000 or $4,000.

2. BILL AND MELISSA GATES FOUNDATION GRANTS – BEST FOR 501(C)(3)S

If you operate a 501(c)(3) or a for-profit business aiming to solve health and development problems, you may qualify for a grant from the Bill and Melissa Gates Foundation. You also have the opportunity to obtain funding from their Global Grand Challenges.

3. CALEB BROWN URBAN ENTREPRENEUR’S COMMUNITY GRANTS – BEST FOR ENTREPRENEURS

We love the Urban Excellence Community Grant because it provides small urban business owners $1,000 and 500 complimentary hours of business consulting and there is an opportunity to apply every month by the 15th. To qualify, you must own a for-profit business that has been open for fewer than 36 months in an urban area.

4. CITIZENS BANK MINORITY-OWNED SMALL BUSINESS GRANT PROGRAM

The fourth and final free grant for small business owners that we’d like to highlight is the Citizens Bank Minority-Owned Small Business Grant Program. If your business is at least 51% minority-owned, has operated for at least a year and has no more than $1 million in revenue, you may qualify for a $15,000 grant.
